How It Works

The Unofficial WWE Championship places the real WWE roster against each other creating an unknown alternate title. Once a champion is crowned, every one-on-one match he competes becomes a championship match and if he loses that match a new champion is crowned. There are no non-title matches in the Unofficial WWE Championship and the current holder is followed at every house show, every Monday Night Raw, every Friday Night Smackdown and every Pay-Per-View until he is defeated.

Only singles matches are considered championship matches but the title can change hands via any decision and with match any stipulation in place. That means the title can be won via DQ or in a Ladder Match.

The idea itself comes from The Unofficial Football Championship, which is exactly the same concept but with international football teams. If you’re a football fan, you should definitely check it out (because perhaps it explains the concept better).
